Title: Making scenes with Tiles

Learning Objectives (Students Will Be Able To...)

• ●  Develop fine motor skills by building different scenes from the story

• ●  Use their imagination to build their favorite scene from the story

  Materials:

• ●  Magnetic Tiles

• ●  Book: “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle

• ●  Paper

• ●  Pencil

• ●  Crayons

  Procedures:

1. Read the book, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle

2. Tell students that they need to create the caterpillar with the magnetic tiles. Walk around

   and see how students are building.

3. Once students get the hang of it, tell them to create all of the food he ate in the story- put

   them in order (Starting with the first to the last).

Assessment:

Did students understand how to build with the magnetic tiles?

Did students remember the foods the caterpillar ate in the story and did they remember the order he ate them in?
